Shah Alam – Unisel Esports Club (UEC) will be joining Garena Student Alliance (GSA) with the collaboration with Garena Malaysia.
The president of the club, Haikal Latiff said to The Voice that “The competition will give us the experience and the opportunity to work with Garena and other universities as we can learn how to manage an esport competition’”
As many as 36 participants from different universities will be competing in a prize pool of RM 62k from League of Legends (LOL) and Fifa Online 3 (FO3).
“We can see the growth of esports in our nation and how people starting to learn about esports. It is one of the most expansive sports in the world,” he said.
“We want to give the opportunity to the Universiti Selangor (Unisel) students who are talented players but are lacking proper equipment and standard of the art facilities,”
The qualifiers to represent Unisel took place last month when four teams battle against each other with only one team selected to represent Unisel.
The GSA will take place on Oct 28 at One City Subang.
